The first of the brand split-era battle royals wherein everyone was wearing either a SmackDown or Raw t-shirt.
The general chaos takes place for the most part. A few set spots take place, such as a group of SmackDown wrestlers holding down Viscera so that Scotty 2 Hotty can perform the worm.
Eventually it is whittled down to two men from either show, but Chris Masters eliminates Nunzio, press slamming him over the top rope leaving Masters with show-mate Viscera against SmackDown’s Booker T. Booker manages to pull down the top rope from a charging Viscera and letting him fall to the floor, eliminated. Booker then goes on to superkick Chris Masters out of the ring to record his only WrestleMania victory to the crowd’s delight.
The first WrestleMania battle royal in 17 years lacks the weight and memorability of earlier incarnations, but is a fine enough way to open a show.
