From the time when Tyson Kidd was just a Hart Dynasty afterthought, the Usos still had jungle noises in their entrance music, and Primo and Epico were Tag Team Champions.
The set up for this preshow title match is the triple threat tag style with one member of each team in the ring at all times, eliminating the awkward tagging in of another team for no coherent reason. All six men are going hard from the get go, but the match has difficulty ever getting traction. Just when you think things are starting to go right and the crowd is getting engaged, Justin Gabriel botches a springboard moonsault to the outside, and is forced to do it again.
Almost immediately thereafter, Gabriel finds himself the victim of a splash by Jey Uso, but Uso’s attempted cover of Gabriel is stopped by Epico, as he pulls him off and delivers the backstabber. Epico pins Jey and gets the three, retaining the Tag Team Titles.
Can you even imagine The Shooting Stars getting the win over The Usos now, or Kidd & Cesaro?
