Roddy Piper makes his WrestleMania return after three years, but he’s dressed in half black face.
In something that no one has ever been able to figure out exactly what is going on, Piper painted half of his body jet black for his match with Bad News.
The match itself is a clusterfuck of a brawl. Roddy Piper’s blackface seems to have the added benefit of transference of the traditionally racist wrestling trope that says you can’t damage the skull of a black or samoan wrestler, so Brown’s attempts to slam Piper’s head in to the turnbuckle proves fruitless.
Piper then grabs a glove from his tights…a Michael Jackson glove. I don’t know, man.
Surprising no one, the fight spills to the outside and both men are counted out, resolving absolutely nothing. A truly baffling match.
