WrestleMania 2 was divided in to three shows. One in Uniondale, New York, one in Rosemont, Illinois, and one in Los Angeles, California, in that order. Lost Angeles would have the World Title cage match between Hulk Hogan and King Kong Bundy. Rosemont would have the Tag Team Title match that saw The British Bulldogs get their shot at The Dream Team, Valentine and Beefcake as well as the huge battle royal featuring wrestlers and NFL stars. And Uniondale would have…this.
A boxing match that starts fast, but both men punch themselves out quickly. A pretty even match with its share of stiff blows. All this build up eventually just ends with Piper anticlimactically and abruptly bodyslamming T for the DQ.
Dave Meltzer rates this as a negative five star match. I won’t go nearly that far, as at least there are some decent punches landed. That said, do not watch this match if given the option. No one actually needs to see this.
