Jimmy Hart is fittingly the manager of the Hart Foundation, but his opposing counsel is the Bulldog’s bulldog, Matilda. Matilda seems to be very well trained, riding the ring cart calmly and then immediately knowing to attack Jimmy Hart once she’s in the ring.
This match happened because the Harts, current tag champions, had made friends with former referee Danny Davis. Davis had cost the Bulldogs their tag titles, and cost Tito his Intercontinental belt, getting him suspended from refereeing for “life plus 10 years.”
Action does not wait to start, before the face team is even announced, they take the fight to Davis & the Harts on the outside. The match is technically fine, but not much to get excited about. The match builds to Tito’s hot tag against Danny Davis, and then Davey Boy getting his in on Davis as well. The Harts simply let it happen without intervention until a pin attempt after Davey Boy’s powerslam.
All six men then get involved, creating enough chaos for Jimmy Hart to hand Davis the megaphone, which he then uses on Smith to get the win.
Considering the fact that the match had been built around titles changing hands and involved the then Tag Team Champions, this match has to be thought of as a disappointment.
