This match is widely regarded as one of the worst matches in WrestleMania history, and not without good reason. Undertaker does do his damndest to pull Gonzalez to a decent match, but that is a tall order, no pun intended.
It is shocking to see just how comparatively small Taker is next to Giant Gonzalez. However, any intimidation factor that may have been there to capitalize on is completely kneecapped by the disaster that is the weird hairy bodysuit that they have put Gonzalez in.
Undertaker hits old school before it was old school. Gonzalez can’t do too much, so he uses headlocks and the like to exert his dominance. Undertake establishes his reputation as the greatest striker by winning out on an exchange that drops the giant to a knee.
At this point, Whippleman gets on the apron, which allows Gonzalez to get…a chloroform rag. He smothers out The Undertaker leading to a DQ.
Never has there been a WrestleMania with such a high number of horrible finishes. It is a bad match, but there truly is worse…somehow.
